Fannie Krieger

was born and raised in France. In November of 1943, her parents and sister were taken by the Germans and did not come back from Auschwitz. At 17, Fanny left her native homeland alone and came to America. When she met her husband, Mel, she knew nothing of fishing, but got Mel to take her on a fishing date, and so started a new life. She is the force behind The Golden West Women Fly Fishers, an inductee in the Northern California Council/Federation of Fly Fishers Hall of Fame and the founding member of the International Women Fly Fishers.
